Last year I did a benefit sale during my art walk exhibitions to support the "Emergency Support Fund" at the organization where I work. I want to thank those who came out to support the cause. At the end of the year, I was able to hand over a cheque of $1500 to the Program. Though it's a very small amount compared to the vast need, a big "Thank You"! I will attach a brief note about the Emergency Support Program; the only thing I wasn't able to update is the total expense for last year.
I was told that this year the fund has been very low and a lot of needy families..., I decided to do it again, to donate 40% of the sale of the two series of paintings I did this year: One focus on Alberta scenery and the second set is east coast focus. When I go up to Jasper every year to paint, I'm surrounded by majestic mountains and open space, and the opportunity to be able to breathe in fresh air anytime was greatly appreciated. Most of the paintings in this series are lakes around the Jasper area. My eyes are still drawn by small corners and quiet places. And the rich history and unique landscape on the east coast always help me to be grounded.
